Marketplace Movers: June 2026
In June on the athenahealth marketplace, 130 companies added customers, 29 lost them, and 380 held flat. That works out to roughly 4.5 gainers for every decliner, and a net gain of 428 customer connections across the marketplace. Set aside the Phreesia single day 71 customer increase (more on that below) and organic net growth was 357 connections.
Most customers added
*Phreesia tops the list, but with an asterisk. Its count sat between 1,069 and 1,074 all month, then jumped 68 in a single day. When I looked back at Phreesia's monthly movement over the prior three months it ranged from -5 to +4. That makes me suspect tha the 71 new clients going live on Phreesia this month was driven by an event like a client acquisition or an attribution change on athena's side.
Arcadia had a strong month with 22 new customers for their care gap solution. They leverage the risk adjustment API, so the gaps Arcadia calculates show up directly in the athena workflow. An end user might not even know it was Arcadia at work in the background.
Aledade added 17 new customers for their ACO MSSP program and overlay in athena. Athena has been promoting ACO partnerships, which could be behind Aledade's growth.
Zocdoc continues their growth streak from May, adding 15 customers. It leads me to believe something fundamental has changed over there and they're moving past their era of one star reviews.
Labcorp held on in the number 5 spot, adding 14 customers to their app which is free for medical groups with Labcorp accounts.
Fastest growth
HealthArc is a bundled RPM and CCM vendor, which puts them in one of the most crowded corners of the marketplace: over 100 companies compete in that space, and most of them held flat in June. Any separation from that pack gets your attention. The category itself is still wide open, with under 10% of athena practices connected to an RPM or CCM product.
Arcadia is the only partner in the top tier of both lists. Everyone else here is a mid size company in growth mode, which shows us what technology is resonating with buyers.
DeepCura AI made the list for the second month in a row, with their ambient scribe plus AI agents helping with clinician tasks. I'd say their implementation team is busy, but they let customers get started without a sales call, so I suspect that a low friction new user experience is helping them stay on the list.
Arintra is an autonomous coding platform, and in a time of athena offering coding solutions and many AI scribes offering coding solutions, I'm impressed to see them growing in this space.
Pretty Good AI cracked the top 5 for the first time with their AI voice clinic intelligence platform. AI voice is a competitive space, so PGAI must be doing something right to be the biggest grower this month.
The AI front office climbs
Worth mentioning that four of the top ten percentage growers this month (Pretty Good AI, Emitrr, Talkie.ai, Marvix AI) are AI voice for the front office products. Practices see a real benefit from these tools, helping their front desk staff work at the top of their license. It makes sense that giving AI work from one of the lowest paid roles at the practice is proving effective.
Anecdotally, established companies on the marketplace that have built their own voice AI features are having success rolling them out to their current customer base, but have difficulty attracting new customers with their voice AI offerings.
Below the floor
My methodology requires a starting base of at least 10 customers, which excludes the single biggest percentage move in the marketplace: Weave went from 7 to 32 customers in June. That's +357%, and it's a real multi-week ramp, not a one-day blip. Weave is a patient communication platform that integrates with the practice's phone system. Think call center technology, but adapted for a medical office, plus lots of patient engagement tools. One to watch for July.
Methodology
Customer counts pulled from the athena marketplace 17 times across June. Monthly change measured June 1 to June 30. Minimum starting base of 10 customers to qualify for the rankings. Mirrored listings from the same company are collapsed into one row.
