Marketplace Movers: August 2026

athena Marketplace Movers, August 2026 summary: +383 net new customer connections across the marketplace. 124 companies gained customers, 39 lost customers, 384 held flat. 3.2 gainers for every decliner. Data collected 8/3/26 through 9/1/26.

In August on the athenahealth marketplace, 124 companies added customers, 39 lost them, and 384 held flat. That works out to roughly 3.2 gainers for every decliner, and a net gain of 383 customer connections across the marketplace. Phreesia didn’t have a big single day change this month, unlike the past couple of months, so no asterisk on the headline number.

Top gainers by volume, athena marketplace, August 2026: Weave +29 (91 customers), Fullscript +21 (735), Aledade +17 (570), Zocdoc +15 (988), Suki AI +14 (616).

Most customers added

Weave takes the top spot for the first time. It's the third month in a row they've shown up on this list. In May they had 7 customers, in June 32, in July 62, and now in August 91. Incredible run. Integrating a technology every practice has (the phone) with the SaaS solution the person is looking at when they answer the phone (athena) seems to be just what practices want.

Fullscript is on this list for the fourth time in five months. 735 customers now. Steady growth on the biggest base of any partner in the top five. It is free to the practice, has a simple workflow, and depending on configuration it makes the practice money. I expect their growth to continue.

Aledade matched their June number exactly, +17. They added 700 primary care organizations to their network for the 2026 performance year and are now serving one in five new MSSP participants nationally. athena keeps promoting ACO partnerships, and Aledade is a popular choice for an independent practice that wants to do VBC.

Zocdoc is 12 customers away from 1,000 connections. It is their third time on this list since May. I called it a blip in May and a fundamental change in June. At this point it's a trend. They are running a national TV campaign this year. Seems likely the customer experience is better than what the reviews say.

Suki AI added 14 customers for their ambient scribe. Full disclosure: Suki is a past client of mine. They were named athena's Preferred Solution Partner for ambient intelligence in January. Practices can also get Suki through athena's Ambient Notes product, which doesn't register as a marketplace connection. The 616 here undercounts their athena footprint.

Top gainers by percent, athena marketplace, August 2026: Weave +46.8%, ReactDx +23.1%, Talkie.ai +20.0%, ConnectivityWise +20.0%, Babyscripts +16.7%.

Fastest growth

Weave led the Marketplace on percentage too. See above.

ReactDx grew 23.1% with their remote cardiac monitoring and home sleep test ordering. They started with 13 practices, helping boost their percentage jump. Med device testing companion apps having been increasing in popularity, a trend that seems likely to continue.

Talkie.ai added 7 customers to reach 42. They've been on the AI voice list I've been tracking since June and were one of the fastest-growing partners in Q2. On August 27 they announced they're an approved vendor for Privia Health. Privia is one of the largest athena shops in the country, so if that approval turns into practice adoption, we'll see it in these numbers.

ConnectivityWise is a new one to me They connect point-of-care instruments to athena so results file to the chart automatically instead of a medical assistant typing them in. athena offered a version this functionality with specific manufactures over a decade ago. With all the interop options athena offers today, it makes sense a marketplace parter would fill this need.

Babyscripts added 2 customers for their OB remote patient monitoring platform. Small base, but they've been at this since 2013 and have raised over $40M doing it. With the upcoming change by CMS to unbundle the global OB billing code and changing RPM rules over the next two years, OB practices will need something exactly like this, and the marketplace has very few options in the category.

Methodology

Customer counts pulled from the athena marketplace between August 3 and September 1. Starting this month, the summary numbers collapse mirrored listings (two listings from the same company that have mirrored practice counts) the same way the rankings do. July's net gain would have been +582 under this rule. Minimum starting base of 10 customers to qualify for the rankings.
